Karolina Waclawiak is the head of Documentary for BuzzFeed Studios. In her role, she oversees the development and production of docuseries and documentary features. She has executive produced projects for Oxygen, Sky, Peacock, and more. Waclawiak served as the Executive Editor of Culture at BuzzFeed News for seven years and in 2022, she became the Editor-in-Chief of the Pulitzer Prize-winning newsroom. She was previously deputy editor of The Believer. Waclawiak is also the author of the critically acclaimed novels Life Events, The Invaders, and How to Get Into the Twin Palms. AWOL, a feature she co-wrote with director Deb Shoval, premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
