About me
Emily Maya Mills is a Los Angeles-based comedy creator, originally from San Francisco. In 2021, she graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with an MFA in Film and Television Production. Her final film, Boo Hag or Shadow Man, won several festival awards-- including an Audience Award, a Best of the Fest and Best Director-- and was distributed by Fox, AspireTV, KIS KIS, Argo and Kweli. She was a producer on the internationally streamed Arsenio Live! @NetflixisaJoke and premiered two new festival shorts at TLC Chinese Theatre in the last two years. Her early career as an actor / comedian traveled through animation (Disney XD series regular), VR development and content creation (Mindshow), and too many television guest stars and commercials to count. Lately, she can be found writing features and pilots, producing boundaries in the virtual production space, and playing a fictional version of her husband’s wife on the podcast, Valley Heat.
