The business of entertainment production is in a state of flux that has not been seen since the creation of cable tv. The rise of AI is changing viewing patterns, and the bundling of streaming platforms has put studios in a quandary as to how they can reach the most important demographic of Gen-Z and Millennials. BuzzFeed Studios’ Richard Reid and Dan Katt will provide a case study of how the studio is adapting and leveraging modern technology to produce content that captures the attention of audiences. Reid and Katt will have a conversation around how the studio uses AI to spot emerging trends (across all platforms), with a reach of over 520 million consumers. The duo will provide an in-depth analysis on how they identify stories that resonate most with young audiences – and tailor the content accordingly. They will examine learnings about AI’s role in pre- and post-production as well as how the studio is leaning into making smaller-budget film and tv productions that deliver big results, aligning with the company’s media strategy to connect directly with viewers in innovative ways and increase their IP.
