VICKI DOBBS BECK will explore the evolution of Immersive Entertainment through the lens of ILM Immersive and its groundbreaking projects over the past ten years. As a part of this journey, she will discuss transitioning from story-telling, one way communication, to this much bigger idea of story-living where you’re in a world making meaningful choices that drive the narrative forward. Such a vision was most recently exemplified by ILM Immersive’s collaboration with Marvel Studios to create the Emmy award-winning experience “What If…?: An Immersive Story” for Apple Vision Pro.

This is for anyone looking to foster community and connection through public art. A gathering of creatives, entrepreneurs, local artists, and art enthusiasts aims to showcase a city’s potential through unforgettable art experiences. We want IF24 attendees to explore the power of immersive art as a hub for creativity and forward-thinking ideas. Light, a fundamental medium, connects us all and illuminates paths toward inclusion and possibility, transforming cities into beacons of connection.

Widespread adoption of immersive media hinges on achieving economies of scale, which are only possible through robust standards and interoperability. Accelerating the adoption of hardware and software, from industrial to consumer use cases, requires cooperation to ensure that solutions are durable and cost-effective, instilling confidence in investments. Leading the charge is the Metaverse Standards Forum, which has created a table for Standards Development Organizations and their member companies to collaborate. This panel will focus on the state of standards and interoperability in immersive content creation, including, Virtual Production, Motion Capture, Volumetric Video, and Stereoscopic Video.
